Neoen has completed the network connection for the upgrade of the 50 MW/194 MWh Hornsdale Power Reserve project in South Australia.
The lithium-ion battery project, also known as the Tesla Big Battery system, has been upgraded with an additional 50 MW/64.5 MWh of capacity by Tesla. The facility is located at the site of the 315 MW Hornsdale wind farm in Australia.
The project is expected to provide extra reliability to the local power grid during periods of very low demand and increased risks of outages.
