Ncondezi has closed a land agreement that will be used for the construction of the 300 MW solar photovoltaic with energy storage project located in the province of Tete in Mozambique.

The land use agreement will cover 950 hectares of land. China Machinery Engineering Corporation (CMEC) will construct that plant which would also partly own the project through a 60% equity investment. The land area will also be the location for the 300 MW coal-fired power plant.

In July 2022, Ncondezi launched a feasibility study for the project through its partnership with WSP Group Africa (Pty) Ltd. Initially, the project is targeted for commercial operation by 2024.
