Ncondezi Energy Ltd has announced the launching of a feasibility study for its 300 MW solar and storage project in northern Mozambique. The facility will be built within the Ncondezi mining concession in the districts of Moatize and Chiuta in Tete Province and will cover an area of 25,000 ha of land. The chosen site is one of three preferred locations identified by the African company, each with a generation potential of approximately 500 MW.
The feasibility study, which is expected to take four months, will be carried out by engineering services and technical consultancy firm WSP Group Africa (Pty) Ltd.
The solar park will connect to the Mozambique grid and be able to supply the first power to the grid as early as 2024.
