Ailes Marines SAS, the partnership between Iberdrola SA, Renewable Energy Systems (RES) and Caisse des Depots, has selected Navantia-Windar joint venture as a preferred supplier for the construction of 62 three-legged jackets, destined for the Saint-Brieuc offshore wind farm in France.
The Saint-Brieuc project is a 496 MW wind power generation project comprised of 62 SG 8.0-167 DD wind turbines that stretch across a 78-square-kilometre (30.1 sq miles) area in the Bay of Saint Brieuc, some 16 kilometres (9.94 miles) off the French coast.
The jackets will be made in Fene, Spain. The contract includes a part of local content, which will be carried out in Brest, such as stabbings, lower nodes and the lattice structure for the 34 jackets.
Navantia-Windar expects to sign the contract in February 2020 and begin manufacturing that summer.
