MPC Energy Solutions (MPCES) has announced its plans to expand its development services to Panama. By developing ground-mounted solar photovoltaic (PV) projects, the company aims to increase its project portfolio in the region significantly. MPCES, along with its associates, has already identified sites and grid connection capacity for a combined 60-70 MWp. The company plans to grow its pipeline by pursuing its developments and acquisitions in the region.
The new developments and acquisitions in Panama are part of MPCES's larger plan to build 800 MW of ready-to-build projects in the region by 2025. By 2027, the firm's goal is to expand that asset count to 1,000 MW of sustainable energy assets across Latin America and the Caribbean.
Currently, Panama generates 54% of its electricity from hydropower projects. However, the nation has pledged to reach a target of 50% of its electricity generation capacity from renewable energy sources like solar and wind by 2050. MPC Energy Solutions is taking significant steps to support this vision and deliver sustainable energy solutions.
