A US-based energy company MMEX Resources Corp has announced plans to invest US$500 million into a green hydrogen, ammonia and methanol project in Tierra del Fuego, Argentina.
MMEX plans to build 160 MW of electrolysis capacity and a 160 MW wind farm to fuel the project. The project would produce 20,000 tonnes of ammonia per year, which is a hydrogen carrier. The company has partnered with Siemens Energy to finalize a detailed engineering design study for the production of 55 tons of hydrogen per day.
The company plans to sell the project's output to European and Asian markets. The project planning is expected to be finished in 2 years.
