The Minister of Mines and Energy has signed the construction of the 1,673MW Porto do Açu III combined-cycle gas turbine power plant located in Açu Port, in the municipality of São João da Barra, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
The project is estimated to have a total investment of BRL4.1 billion (USD1 billion). The operation of the facility is expected to commence by January 2023.
