Eletropar sold its Eletropaulo stake for USD25 million

Eletrobras Participacoes SA also known as Eletropar has divested its stake in Brazilian power distributor, Eletropaulo.  The transaction cost has amounted to BRL95.37 million (US$ 24.7 miullion) and involved the sell of over 2 million shares at a price of BRL45.22 each.

Eletropaulo distributes and sells electric power. It distributes electricity in 24 municipalities in the metropolitan area of São Paulo.

The company operates through 152 substations; a distribution and sub transmission network of approximately 43,000 kilometers; and 208,000 overhead and underground distribution transformers. It distributes electric power to residential, commercial, industrial, and rural customers, as well as public sector, public lighting, public services, and others. The company serves approximately 7.0 million consumers.
