Meralco PowerGen Corporation (MGen) plans to start the construction of 50 MWac solar project located in San Miguel, Bulacan province within this month.
MGEN has secured the construction permit for the PHP4.25-billion (US$83.4m) project in December of 2019.
In October 2019, PowerSource First Bulacan Solar Inc (PFBSI) had selected SUMEC Complete Equipment & Engineering Co Ltd. as an engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contractor.
MGEN Renewable Energy, Inc. (MGreen) holds a 40% interest in PFBSI. Other shareholders are PowerSource Global Holdings Corporation (36%) and Singapore’s Sunseap International Pte. Ltd. (24%).
Once completed, the solar park will sell its output to Meralco for 20 years.
