Mainstream Renewable Power and Ocean Winds have announced a partnership to develop a second ScotWind site of 500 MW east of Shetland, in the UK. The development will expand the overall footprint of the Arven Offshore Wind Farm to 2.3 GW.
The project comprises two sites, the first being the 1.8 GW site east of the Shetland Islands, and the second is a 500 MW site in the same NE1 block.
Mainstream and Ocean Wind have commenced early-stage local engagement, meeting with supply chain partners, local authorities, and fisheries representatives. The partnership aims to develop the two sites in an environmentally sustainable way while ensuring the benefits of the projects are felt by the local communities.
