Kuwait Authority for Partnership Projects has invited firms to fill in as transaction adviser for the Al-Zour North phase 2&3 and the Al-Khiran independent water and power projects.
The Al-Zour facility involves the development of a water desalination and power generation plant with a net power capacity of around 2,700 MW and a net water capacity of 165 million imperial gallons a day (MIGPD). The plant will utilise using gas turbine combined cycle technology.
The Al-Zour phase 2&3 will be the second phase of the IWPP Az-Zour North and will be located on the Az-Zour North site adjacent to the west boundary of the Az-Zour North 1 IWPP and to the North boundary of the existing Az-Zour South power complex, approximately 100 km south of Kuwait City on the Arabian Gulf coast.
The Al-Khiran 1 will be located at the Al-Khiran site on the Arabian Gulf coast approximately 100 km out of Kuwait City and to export the power and water output from the plant to Kuwait's electricity and water transmission network. The plant will have a net power capacity of approximately 1,800 MW and a net water capacity of 125 MIGD.
Following the prequalification process, the tendering of the Al-Zour 2&3 and Al-Khiran 1 projects will be staggered to maximise participation.
