Juwi Group has started the commercial operations of the 7 MW Freisen-Rothsberg wind farm located in the Saarland district of St. Wendel, Germany.
The wind farms consist of two V-136 type wind turbines, which been feeding its first kilowatt-hours of clean electricity into the regional distribution network since the end of November. Both turbines generate more than 18 million kilowatt-hours annually, enough to supply enough power for around 5,800 three-person households.
The wind farm is owned and operated by the Mannheim energy company MVV. The technical management is carried out by juwi Operations & Maintenance GmbH.
The two V-136 type wind turbines are so-called inland systems, with an output of 3.45 MW per turbine, 166-meters of hub height, and 136 meters of rotor diameter. The total height of a wind turbine is 234 meters.
