Japan Renewable Energy (JRE) has started the commercial operation of a 73.9 MW solar photovoltaic project located in the Shiga prefecture, Japan.
The Shirakawa Solar Park project consists of 184,730 solar panels that can generate up to 79.7 million kWh of energy per year. The project is built in the municipality of Shirakawa in Tohoku. The solar farm has contracted a power purchase agreement (PPA) with Japanese electric utility Tohoku Electric Power Network Co Inc.
