JRE breaks ground for Takashima solar project in Japan

Japan Renewable Energy (JRE) has broken ground for the construction of the 13.18 MW JRE Takashima Solar Power Plant located in Takashima City, Shiga Prefecture, Japan. The facility will consist of  38,764 panels and is expected to generate enough power to meet the annual demand of about 3,940 local households.

The output of the solar farm will be sold to the local utility Kansai Electric Power Co Inc once commenced operation by June 2020.
