Invenergy has announced the start of construction on the 240-MW Pleasant Prairie Solar Energy Center in Franklin County, Ohio, USA.
Situated in Galloway, Ohio, just outside of Columbus, the Pleasant Prairie Solar Energy Center represents a projected US$ 230 million investment in Franklin County over the project's lifespan. Construction is set to continue through early 2027, with commercial operations expected to begin thereafter. Invenergy is working with Blattner as the construction partner for the project. The facility will utilize domestically produced solar panels from Illuminate USA, a Pataskala-based advanced manufacturing company majority-owned by Invenergy. These same panels are also being used in other Invenergy solar projects across Ohio, including the operational Hardin III Solar facility and the under-construction Cadence Solar project.
This solar center adds to Invenergy's growing Ohio portfolio—surpassing 1 GW of capacity statewide—and generates new tax revenue, lease income, and educational collaboration with Ohio State University's Battelle Center for Science, Engineering and Public Policy.
