Grupo IBS Energy has been awarded an engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract from the unit of PowerChina, Sepco1 Construcoes do Brasil Ltda, for the development of an 80 MW biomass project in Brazil.
The Termeletrica Cidade do Livro SA will cover an area of 121,000 sq. m. and consists of two 40-MW power generators. It will generate power through the direct burning of biomass in a fluidized bed steam boiler.
The project will require about BRL600 million (US$119 million). The construction is set to start in July 2020.
