Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Energy has announced the winners for the construction of three solar Photovoltaic (PV) plants of about 500 MW in Namangan, Bukhara, and Khorezm regions, Uzbekistan. The projects and the winnning bidders are as follows:
Initially, 11 bidders were selected for the final phase of the tender, and the list includes Jinko Power, ACWA Power, ALARKO, Elsewedy Electric, Nebras Power, ReNew Power, Solarpack, Voltalia and TBEA.
The procurement exercise is the first of two solar tenders for 900 MW. The country aims to deploy 8 GW of solar by 2030.
ACWA Power and the government of the Republic of Uzbekistan have signed power purchase agreements (PPAs) and investment agreements (IAs) for the development of the 1.5 GW Kungrad wind project.
