Iberdrola, through its subsidiary ScottishPower, plans to build a large green hydrogen production facility located at the Port of Felixstowe in Suffolk, England, UK.
The EUR170 million (US$175.47 million) plant is designed to produce about 14,000 tonnes per year of renewable hydrogen for the supply of vehicles and machinery used by the port and the fuel need of up to 1,300 green hydrogen trucks. The green hydrogen can also be used for the production of green ammonia or ethanol.
ScottishPower is partnering with Hutchison Ports, a unit of CK Hutchison Holdings, to develop the project. The plant is expected to be operational by 2026.
