HDF sells majority stakes in Renewstable Barbados (RSB) complex to Rubis

French hydrogen energy specialist Hydrogene de France SA (HDF) is selling the majority stake in the Renewstable Barbados (RSB) complex, the largest hydrogen power project in Barbados, to Rubis SCA.

Rubis is acquiring a 51% interest in the solar-plus-green hydrogen project that will be located in St Philip. The renewable energy complex will have a solar capacity of 50 MW and 128 MWh of green hydrogen with the battery storage system. 

The project is estimated to have a total investment of US$100 million. HDF is also in talks with the Barbados Sustainable Energy Co-operative Society for the sale of a 30% stake in the project prior to the start of the construction.
