Greenalia has completed the construction of Monte Tourado (Vimianzo), Alto da Croa (Vimianzo), and Croa II (Vimianzo and Dumbría) wind farms, that has a combined generating capacity of 28 MW.
With a total of eight wind turbines measuring 84 meters in hub height and 132 meters in diameter each, the three wind farms had an overall investment of EUR21.5 million (US$25.53 million). The final number of turbines was reduced from 13 after revisions of the design considering the possible environmental, landscape, and/or archaeological effects and going above and beyond the requirements set forth in existing regulations.
Between the three facilities (Alto da Croa, Croa II, and Monte Tourado), which can be expected to be operational in one month, there will exist the capacity to generate energy equivalent to the consumption of up 3,000 homes.
