The Waste to Energy Fund: Bioenergy intends to support the sector to increase renewable energy generation. The funding is available through two streams:

  • Stream 1: Project development, which supports applicants to scope, test and gain approvals to achieve pre-construction and pre-financial close phases of a bioenergy project. Each project in this category can receive a grant of between AUD20,000 (US$13,629) and AUD250,000 (US$170,371);
  • Stream 2: Project infrastructure, which supports applicants with a proven business experience in the purchase, construction and commissioning of infrastructure to convert organic matter to bioenergy. Each project under stream 2 can receive a grant of between AUD50,000 (US$34,074) and AUD1 million (US$681,485).
