PGE Baltica has picked Gavin and Doherty Geosolutions (GDG), a Venterra Group company for the 900 MW Baltica 1 offshore wind project situated 80 km from the coastline, of the town of Leba in the Pomeranian voivodeship, Poland.

GDG's responsibilities within the contract encompass overseeing the seabed survey activities for the project utilizing both geophysical and geotechnical methods. This involves developing a ground model and initial foundation designs for subsequent design phases. The offshore geotechnical surveys aim to assess seabed conditions for the Baltica 1 offshore wind project, including the offshore export cable. This project, part of PGE Group's initiatives in the Baltic Sea, has secured location permits and connection agreements. It has also completed a year of surveys on wind, sea currents, and waves.

Additionally, PGE Group is developing two other projects, Baltica 2 and Baltica 3, in collaboration with Orsted, forming the Baltica Offshore Wind Farm with a combined capacity of 2.5GW. Baltica 1 is slated for commissioning post-2030.
