Sydney-based power generation firm Genex Power Ltd is planning to build a 50 MW/75 MWh battery storage facility located near Rockhampton in central Queensland, Australia.
The Como battery storage facility will be built in addition to the Kidston pumped hydro project. It will consist of lithium-ion batteries that can be used for up to 1.5 hours of storage.
The project seeks to enter the market for energy arbitrage and frequency and other grid services once operational by 2021.
