Nordex Group has installed the first of 114 turbines for the 475 MW Nysater wind farm complex in Sweden, after completion of the necessary infrastructure work.
The project involves the development of two wind farms: Hästkullen (307 MW) and Björnlandhöjden (167 MW) in the Västernorrland district of central Sweden, located near the city of Sundsvall. The two project sites are characterized by mean wind speeds of between 7.5 and 8.0 meters per second.
The wind farms will be equipped with 104 units of the Nordex N149/4.0-4.5 turbines and 10 N131/3900 machines. The N149/4.0-4.5 will be operated between 4.0 MW and 4.380 MW, the N131/3900 between 3.13 MW and 3.9 MW, depending on the location and tip heights of up to 220 meters. The total installed capacity will be 475 MW. The construction of the wind cluster is expected to be completed by 2021.
Nordex is also carrying out civil and electrical infrastructure works.
E.ON is jointly developing the project with Credit Suisse Energy Infrastructure Partners (CSEIP). CSEIP will hold 80% equity stake in the project through its advisory fund, while E.ON will hold the remaining 20% as well as operate the wind farm under an operations and maintenance agreement.
