Mainstream Renewable Power has reached financial close on a 98 MW photovoltaic solar farm project in Free State province, South Africa.
The 98 MW solar farm will deliver the generated power to Sasol and Air Liquide's operations in Secunda, Mpumalanga province, under 20-year power purchase agreements (PPAs). These PPAs are essential for addressing South Africa's energy constraints by providing a quick and cost-effective solution to enhance energy security and address load-shedding challenges. Additionally, Mainstream Asset Management South Africa (MAMSA), a subsidiary of the solar farm's owner, provides operations and maintenance services to ensure the long-term integrity of the assets.
