Eurowind Energy has announced plans to build a 220MW solar park in Vișina, Dâmbovița County, Romania.

The EUR 174.8 million (US$203 million) project will be the Danish developer’s largest in the country and is expected to generate 400GWh of renewable electricity each year—enough to power around 150,000 households. Located on a 354-hectare site, the solar farm will feature more than 400,000 photovoltaic panels.

The investment includes improvements to local infrastructure, including the upgrade of a 7.5km agricultural access road that will remain open to the public. Vișina is Eurowind’s fifth solar development in Romania, following projects in Hălchiu, Măgurele, Pufești and Teiuș. By the end of 2025, the company expects to operate 124MW of installed capacity in Romania, alongside a pipeline of approximately 7.5GW covering solar, wind, hybrid and storage.
