DRI, the EU renewables arm of Ukrainian energy firm DTEK, has connected the 60 MW Glodeni II solar park to the grid located in Mureș County in Romania.
This marks DRI's second solar park in Romania, complementing the 53 MWp Glodeni I project. In addition to Glodeni I and II, DRI also operates a 60 MWp wind farm in Ruginoasa, Iași County, which became operational in December 2023. Under Romania’s largest physical solar power purchase agreement (PPA), signed in December 2024, DRI will supply 62% of the energy generated by the two Glodeni solar plants to energy producer OMV Petrom SA.
Glodeni 2 is located adjacent to Glodeni 1, near the village of the same name. DRI acquired both projects—Glodeni 1, with a peak capacity of 53 MW, and Glodeni 2—from the Finas Group. These sites are situated near the village of Glodeni, along the Mureș River.
