European Energy has inaugurated its first hybrid park, which combines 39.3 MWp solar and 49.6 MW wind power, consisting of eight wind turbines located in Kronoberg County in Sweden.
The annual production of the park is estimated at around 126 GWh, equivalent to the yearly electricity consumption of more than 25,000 households. The hybrid park connects to Sweden’s electricity grid via a single connection point, lowering both construction and operating costs. Located in a forested area, the project was developed with strong environmental considerations. The rocky landscape was managed by reusing existing soil, minimizing transport requirements. Construction of the hybrid park spanned four years. To enhance biodiversity, European Energy has implemented measures such as preserving water ponds, creating natural habitats along the park’s perimeter, and planting vegetation that supports pollinators.
Skåramåla is the first of three planned solar-wind hybrid parks in Sweden, developed by European Energy. Next in line is Grevekulla in Ydre Municipality, which is already under construction.
