South Africa’s power utility Eskom has launched a tender for the development of an 80MW/320MWh battery storage project located in Vredendal, Western Cape.
The contract covers the design, engineering, supply, construction, erection, testing, and commissioning of a Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) within the maximum period of nine months, and the plant operation and maintenance for a period of five years at Koekenaap, Matzikama district.
The deadline for the submission of documents to participate in the tender is on September 11, 2020.
