ESB Wind Development has requested authorization to carry out site studies within the framework of the development of a possible 800 MW wind farm off the coasts of Wicklow and Dublin, Ireland.
A subsidiary of ESB has opened a public consultation as part of its application for authorization for foreshore to perform site survey work for the proposed development, which is known as Sea Stacks Offshore Wind. The site is approximately 12 km off the shore.
This application is for a foreshore license to conduct site surveys. A separate authorization would be required to build a wind farm.
The proposed site studies include geophysical and geotechnical studies, environmental, ecological, and archaeological studies.
