Equitix and Helios Energy Investments (Helios) announced that Equitix has become the 100% shareholder in Bio Capital (the Company) following the successful acquisition of Helios’ interests in the Company.

Bio Capital is the leading operator of Anaerobic Digestion (AD) facilities in the UK, managing a network of plants nationwide. The company processes around 500,000 tonnes of food waste annually, helping to prevent up to 360,000 tonnes of CO₂ emissions through its production of renewable energy. With the certified capacity to produce more than 900 GWhth of biogas each year, Bio Capital plays an increasingly important role in decarbonizing the natural gas grid and reducing reliance on fossil fuels in the transport sector.

Since 2018, Equitix and Helios have jointly owned Bio Capital, leveraging their complementary strengths to transform the company. Helios brought deep experience in renewable energy and biogas, while Equitix contributed its leadership in infrastructure and operations management. Together, they led strategic acquisitions of operational brownfield sites, turnaround projects, and gas grid assets. Through their shared investment and strategic direction, they successfully grew Bio Capital into the UK's leading producer of biogas and biomethane from food waste.
