Singapore-based Enterprize Energy has secured the site survey license for the planned development of a 3.6 GW Thanglong offshore wind farm in Ke Ga Cape, 190km east of Ho Chi Minh City. The wind farm covers an area of about 2,800 sq.km.
The Thang Long project will be developed in five 600 MW phases and one 400 MW phase. The first 600 MW phase consists of 64 9.5-MW wind turbines. The capacity of the turbines for each of the following phases will increase as the development of wind turbine technology progresses.
The US$11.9 billion project will feature MHI Vestas turbines. It is expected to be operational in late 2022 or early 2023.
