Enel North America has announced its plans to construct a 3 GW solar cell and module manufacturing plant in the US. Site selection is already underway.
It is anticipated that construction will commence in the first part of 2023, with commercial operations slated to commence by the end of 2024. The plant will be able to grow up to 6 GW of yearly output capacity.
Enel intends to replicate the Italian production plant in order to manufacture bifacial heterojunction photovoltaic (PV) cells in the US.
