Eneco has signed a 15-year power purchase agreement (PPA) deal with the power output of the Fryslân Wind Farm, the largest nearshore wind farm in the Netherlands. The Fryslân wind farm will produce 1,500 GWh of green energy annually. This corresponds to the power consumption of 500,000 households.
With an annual production of 1500 GWh, this agreement is the largest power purchase contract - also called the Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) - that Eneco has ever concluded with a Dutch wind farm.
Fryslân wind farm is currently being built in the IJsselmeer, about 6 kilometers from the Frisian IJsselmeer coast, near the Afsluitdijk. The park comprises 89 wind turbines with a total capacity of 382.7 MW.
The power purchase contract was negotiated on behalf of Windpark Fryslân by Ventolines, all-round service provider in the sustainable wind energy market.
