Sif Holding n.v. will manufacture 114 monopiles (113 KTon steel) for Vattenfall/Nuon for 3 out of 4 zones for the 1.4 GW project Hollandse Kust Zuid in The Netherlands.
Sif’s scope comprises manufacturing of the monopiles and storage at the MV2 facility in Rotterdam in 2020-2021.
The Hollandse Kust Zuid project is scheduled for grid connection in 2022 and will power almost 1,000,000 homes (or almost 5% of current total electricity consumption in The Netherlands). The entire Hollandse Kust Zuid project will be realized free of subsidies. It is located some 12 miles offshore The Netherlands and will measure approximately 214 km².
Vattenfall/Nuon is the winner of zones I-IV of the Hollandse Kust Zuid project (350 MW, 38 9.5 MwH Turbines for each zone). Two zones (75 Kton, 76 monopiles) were already included in Sif’s orderbook as projects under exclusive negotiations.
