Oberschwäbischen Elektrizitätswerke (OEW) and Neckar-Elektrizitätsverband (NEV) are resolutely expanding their involvement in the area of renewable energies. The two municipal associations and shareholders in EnBW each recently acquired a 24.95% shareholding in the EnBW wind farm Buchholz III.
The wind farm is located in the Buchholz (Aller) and Marklendorf municipalities in the Heidekries region of Lower Saxony and was placed into operation in autumn 2017. The four Vestas V126 turbines have an output of around 13 MW and generated more than 32 million KWh of electricity in their first full year of operation in 2018. The project can supply enough electricity for almost 10,000 average households and save around 15,000 tonnes of CO2.
