Elektroprivreda BiH has connected the Podvelezje wind project's 110/30kV substation to the grid, located in Mostar, Bosnia’s Muslim-Croat Federation.
The BAM9.5 million (US$5.7 million) substation features 40 kilometers of cables installation connected to the Podvelezje wind project. ABB is in charge of the project design, construction, equipment, power cables, and putting into operation of the substation.
The project is developed by a consortium of companies that include Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy and Siemens Wind Power, both are subsidiary of Spanish engineering company Siemens Gamesa.
EPBiH has erected the 10 turbines, while 5 turbines are currently in progress. The Podvelezje wind farm is scheduled to be operational by the first quarter of 2021 and expected to produce up to 130 GWh annually.
