Bosnian state-controlled company Elektroprivreda BiH has completed the construction of the foundation for the first of 15 wind turbines that makes up the 48 MW Podvelezje wind farm in Mostar.
The foundation with up to three meters depth absorbed more than 450 cubic meters of concrete. Other construction activities on all foundations are expected to be fully completed by the end of August.
The project is developed by a consortium of companies that include Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy and Siemens Wind Power, both are subsidiary of Spanish engineering company Siemens Gamesa. HP Investing Mostar and Minersko Sarajevo are developing the project. The project is expected to be operational by the first quarter of 2021.
The Government of Bosnia's Herzegovina-Neretva Canton has signed a 30-year concession deal with EPBiH. The project have secured financing from the German development bank KfW and EPBiH's own funding.
