EDP Renováveis, S.A. (EDPR) has secured a 15-year Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) to sell the green energy produced by a 110 MWac solar photovoltaic project located in the State of Illinois, USA.
The deal is an environmental justice-focused PPA, where EDPR is committed to employing women and minorities in positions of leadership on the project, investing capital in women and minority-owned businesses (WMBEs), undertaking habitat restoration activities, and ensuring the project is carbon neutral.
The project is expected to enter into operation in 2024.
