EDPR has announced the completion of a 19 MWp distributed generation (DG) solar project in Anhui province, China. The facility took less than 5 months to be constructed, and it will generate more than 22 GWh of energy each year, offsetting roughly 19,000 metric tonnes of carbon emissions annually.
The 35,000 solar panels are installed on the rooftop of a major consumer electronic manufacturing facility and are intended for self-consumption with a signed 20-year power purchase agreement (PPA).
The 19 MWp project is part of EDPR APAC's renewable energy commitments to China's current 150 MWp solar energy capacity. The company will support China's goal of achieving net-zero carbon emissions by 2060.
