EDP is building a solar plant for Globo in Recife (PE). The facility will generate about 269,385 kWh per year, energy capable of serving 90 homes per month with an average consumption of 250kWh / month or 3,000 kWh per year.
Composed of 468 photovoltaic modules, the plant was installed over the central parking lot of the station, in an area of approximately 1,000 square meters. The energy generated over the 25-year life span of the plant will prevent 498.4 tonnes of CO2 from being released into the atmosphere, equivalent to planting 3,054 trees. This photovoltaic structure, technically known as carport, is the first solar solution acquired by Globo in the Northeast.
EDP Smart will be responsible for the operation and maintenance (O&M) of the system implemented at the Recife office for a period of 15 years in the form of rent.
