The EDF and SNCF enter power purchase deal through EDF Renouvelables and SNCF Energie, a subsidiary of SNCF Voyageurs, for the purchase of renewable electricity (Green Corporate Power Purchase Agreement) for a period of 20 years.
Through this contract, EDF Renouvelables undertakes to supply SNCF Energie with the electricity production of a 20 MW photovoltaic plant located in the municipalities of Lachapelle-Auzac and Souillac, in the Lot department, for 20 years, at a price determined in advance and competitive. Construction of the solar power plant will begin this year, with commissioning scheduled for 2023.
The plant's annual production will amount to 25 GWh, which corresponds for example to about half of the electricity consumption required for the circulation of TGVs between Paris and Lille each year.
