EDF Renewables, a unit of EDF Group, has secured the development of a 60 MW solar photovoltaic project at abandoned areas within the Deauville – Normandie Airport in the Calvados department in France.
EDF will build the project on about 45 hectares of land which will be one of the largest of its kind in Normandy.
Once operational in 2024, the project can generate enough energy for the consumption of up to 21,000 people.
