Ecolab Inc has signed a 10-year Power Purchase Agreement with Low Carbon that will support the construction and operation of the 29.5 MW Mörknässkogen wind project located in Vaasa, Finland.
The Mörknässkogen wind farm is scheduled to start operations by the end of 2023. It is expected to produce around 100 GWh annually, enough to fulfill the demand of over 29,000 homes and offset an estimated 20,900 tones. The project will supply power to all of Ecolab's European sites including 15 major offices, 26 manufacturing facilities, and seven RD&E centers.
Low Carbon had achieved financial close on the wind project and entered a route to market and balancing PPA with Axpo. The financing partner for the project is Kommunalkredit Austria AG, acting as the Sole Mandated Lead Arranger in the EUR24.8 million (US$26.78 million) senior financing facility.
