Dubai Electricity & Water Authority P.J.S.C. (DEWA) announces the commencement of a competitive tender process for the seventh phase of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park situated approximately 50 km south of Dubai.
The Plant will have an aggregate capacity of 1,600 MWac up to 2000 MWac in Solar Photovoltaic and 1,000 MW in battery storage. The tender process will be able to select a suitable developer/developers or developer consortium/consortia to share ownership of the project company/companies on build and operate on an Independent Power Project (IPP) basis. DEWA has appointed a global consortium led by Deloitte as a consultant for the seventh phase. Phased commissioning is scheduled between 2027 and 2029, positioning DEWA to exceed its original 5,000MW target by 2030 for the solar park well ahead of schedule. The electricity produced will be acquired by DEWA through a long-term Power Purchase Agreement (PPA).
Interested bidders, who have experience undertaking similar projects, are invited to submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) in an electronic copy by email to be received by DEWA by no later than noon on 21st March 21, 2025. Upon receipt of the EOI, DEWA will duly register the interest expressed for further consideration. DEWA intends to provide additional information on the subsequent process and procedures in due course, upon receipt of a confidentiality undertaking.
