RWE and Northland Power have chosen Dajin Offshore to supply the foundations for their 1.6 GW Nordseecluster, which includes four offshore wind farm sites in the German North Sea. The cluster will be built in two phases and will include a total of 104 offshore wind turbines. As the preferred supplier, Dajin Offshore will provide all foundations, transition pieces, and offshore towers for the Nordseecluster project.
The first phase of the project, known as Nordseecluster A, will include two wind farms, N-3.7 and N-3.8, which are currently in the permit application stage and have a combined capacity of 660 MW. Foundation installation is planned to start in 2025, with commercial operations beginning early in 2027. The second phase, Nordseecluster B, will add an additional 900 MW of capacity and will include two more wind farms, N-3.6 and N-3.5. The foundation installation for Nordseecluster B is scheduled to begin in 2027, with commercial operations beginning in 2029.
RWE and Northland Power are planning to bid on both phases of the Nordseecluster project in the German Government’s offshore wind auctions this year.
