Dajin Heavy Industry has completed the production and shipment of all monopile foundations within its scope for Ørsted's Hornsea 3 offshore wind farm in the UK.

Dajin Heavy Industry has completed the production and shipment of all monopile foundations within its scope for Ørsted's 2.9GW Hornsea 3 offshore wind farm, with the final batch now en route to the UK. The last shipment was loaded onto the company's own heavy-lift deck carrier, King One, marking the completion of Dajin's manufacturing and transport responsibilities for the project.

The company said the use of its self-owned transport vessel enabled it to integrate manufacturing, logistics and delivery, helping ensure efficient execution of the contract. Dajin noted that the combination of in-house production capabilities and dedicated marine transportation strengthened its ability to support large-scale offshore wind projects.

Hornsea 3, being developed by Ørsted off the UK coast, is one of the world's largest offshore wind projects with a planned capacity of 2.9GW. The project will use 197 XXL monopile foundations, each around 90 metres long and weighing about 1,670 tonnes, to support 15MW wind turbines. Foundation installation is already underway and will continue through 2026 and into 2027. Once operational, the wind farm is expected to generate enough renewable electricity to power more than 3.3 million UK homes.
