National Energy Commission (CNE) has announced that its 50 MW Named Washington Capital Solar Park will be put online at the end of the year.
The Washington Capital solar park has 201,000 solar panels located in about 75 hectare area in Mata de Palma, municipality of Guerra, Santo Domingo province, with a total cost of about US$75 million. The park is expected to generate around 110 GWh per year and will provide more than 500 direct jobs in the region, when operational. The facility has an expected life span of over 30 years.
U.S. developer Dominion is in charge of construction of the project.
