The National Energy Commission (CNE) of the Dominican Republic has awarded a 25-year concession to Natural World Energy Corporation (NWEC) for a 100 MW solar photovoltaic plant.
The NWEC Villarpando-Azua solar project will be developed in the municipality of Las Yayas de Viajama, Villarpando, Azua. It will represent a total of US$110 million investment.
Once operational, the facility can generate enough energy for the consumption of about 195,000 homes.
