Commerz Real AG has acquired a 50 MW agrivoltaic solar project close to Berlin, Germany from Elysium Solar. The photovoltaic (PV) farm is anticipated to become operational in 2025.
No financial information regarding the purchase was revealed. Commerz Real aims to open up the project to private investors. Under the terms of the deal, Elysium Solar will build Commerz Real at least two more agrivoltaic parks of comparable scale.
Commerz Real has invested 1.5 GW in solar energy since 2005, as well as in wind power plants and other energy infrastructure segments since 2016. It manages approximately 50 solar power facilities and over 40 onshore and offshore wind farms in Germany and Europe at present.
